Danang Fireworks Festival – also known as Danang International Fireworks Competition DIFC will be held annually from 2017. Sun Group, which is famous as the builder of huge cable car systems in Vietnam (Ba Na Hills, Fansipan Sapa, Halong) – will be the organizer of DIFC 2017.
The competition will take place in March on the Han River at Asia Park. Seven champions of previous years and the host Vietnam will join the event. The biennial event will last for three weeks instead of two or three days as in the past. The agenda will be soon updated once it’s available. Asia Park is one of new attractive destinations in the coastal beach city.
Many accompanying events will be held during the DIFC, such as food festival, paragliding shows, international music festivals, etc. According to Sun Group, estimated cost for the festival is VND 60 billion (USD 2.5 million).
Statistics shows the number of tourists visiting Danang city during DIFC fireworks festival surged from 50,000 in 2008 to 400,000 in 2015.
Danang International Fireworks Competition started in 2008 for the first time ever. Invited teams from all over the world and the host Danang Vietnam compete against each other in festival. DIFC was held every year at the end of March (2008-2010) and every two year at the end of April (2011-2015) on Vietnam National Reunion holidays.
